Here is a video I had to lip sync to a favorite song

Here is a video I had to make about my pets. I really hate my voice over a recording haha don’t laugh to hard

This is my story collage. We have only been together for 2 years and we are getting married in 2 months. My life is literally complete ( except for a couple little tiny humans running around) 😛

What’s in my gullet? Preach tea, water, and a bloody Mary. Don’t judge ☺

I am supposed to do a photo of a couple in love. This couple has been through the ringer more than once but still act like a bunch of love struck teenagers. They met in a different circumstance and have been a stepping stone for each other every day of their loves together. They are the epitomy of an adult relationship and Brandon and I love them and respect them each and every day.

OK for this  assignment I was supposed to make an object seem larger than it really was and I tried to do a bed and make it seem like a giant obstacle but I think it just turned out like a picture of a bed post.

Dream it!… Write it!
For the longest time after my fiance and I started dating I had this dream that he needed me to take food to him at work. When I would get to his work the dispatcher (a friend of mine) would greet me and tell me he’s right through the door, so I would go through the door and through another door, and another and another! I was furious haha I could never get to him so when I would wake up I would be so mad at him! It was the most ridiculous thing ever and looking back now I laugh at how silly it is but it happens.

Independent Learning Project Wrap-Up

Well this semester I chose to do two independent projects but with everything going on I had to remove one of them so the quilt making I was going to start on had to be put on the back burner. Perhaps after my wedding I will start on that project again.

I stuck with the working out/preparation for a 5k project and I have had a lot of fun with it. I am no where near where I wanted to be at this point in the semester BUT I have been learning so much from myself and other people that I follow on Instagram and Pinterest that it will be hard to give up. The most challenging thing for me in this project is not giving up. There are times when I was running or working out that I thought my legs might fall off or that I would faint, but I never did faint and my legs are still intact. I came out of those hard days a lot stronger and proud of myself which made me want to work harder. It is hard for me to want to share this but I have time myself only once this whole semester and I was running a 9 minute/mile pace and I did that for four miles, walking a mile then running a mile and so on. I do not have a timed goal I want to reach in my 5k adventure but what I do want to do is finish. No matter how I do it I want to cross that finish line and cross this adventure off my bucket list. There were certain days where the motivation was on point and I did my workouts like a stud, BUT then there were those days that I was thinking how awesome my couch looked and how much homework I needed to get done. To me a project like this gives someone a sense of responsibility and achievement that might not otherwise be able to be reached. I would love to incorporate an independent learning project into my teaching because students have free rein to do whatever appeals to them and we can do whatever we want with it. There are endless opportunities and showing students that can help them remember that through their whole life and careers.  I found this great quote on the web that I must share with all of you because it isn’t just for health and fitness but for life in general.

Here are this weeks daily creates’.

Dog it up! 😂😂😂

Colorize it!

I had to change the color and tone of the picture.

For this one I had to mesh nature and a picture of myself I’m not sure if I did it right but I figured I’ll share it anyway

Instagram is done-describe your lunch to me!
I ate the best cake earlier today for my bridal shower! It had a dark cookie crust that was to die for and it just melted in your mouth. The middle layer was a raspberry gelatin which reminded me of moose because it was so fluffy (I think if the little girl on despicable me) then the top layer was whip cream because lets be honest you can’t go wrong with whip cream!

Story in the alphabet
A big carefree driver escaped from guards, he idolized joyrides leaving messy news. Obviously putting Quinn reasonably safe to undergo ventures. Wheels, xylophones, yams and zippers.

I wish I could live in the 40s and 50s. I love the music and styles of those eras. I can see myself living in a house with a white picket fence where my children would play while my husband mows the yard. I don’t need anything fancy just a time of great strength and the desire to succeed.

I use Canva all the time and I have found it so easy and convenient to use. One thing I love about this program is that it could be a neat and exciting new way to assess students on what they have learned. Who has had the privilege to take a math class from Dr. Wentworth? After each chapter she has her students make a “poster” to show something that we have learned. I understand it isn’t the same but it is along the same lines. If I were to use Canva it would be in math. Part of the criteria for the posters is that they would need to be fun and creative. Students would need to make it their own using different fonts, colors, pictures, etc. I also like the idea of using this as a reflection on my own teaching. It would be a pretty clear sign that maybe students are not understanding or taking vital information away from these lessons if their Canva posters didn’t make sense. It would be pretty easy to make adjustments to your teaching method/strategy for the years to come.

I wanted to showcase my independent learning project through pictures. After all a picture is worth a thousand words, right?  I have learned so much about myself these past few months and it has really opened my eyes to bigger and better things, not only within myself by how I will be a teacher.  One thing I really enjoy about Canva is that less is more. You don’t need a lot of words you just need to be able to express yourself in a meaningful and concise manner.  CANVA POSTER

I do not believe there are drawbacks to using such a program. What I do believe is that not one student is the same and you may have a student or two that have a hard time trying to be creative in a visual way. Teachers have to bring new ideas to the classroom all the time and inspire their students to think outside the box while still being comfortable doing it. I do wish I had something like Canva available to me growing up. Especially in my English classes, I always struggled to get my point across when I was told you have to write this many pages or this many words. There is something unique and exciting about giving your students options to be creative.

I personally have never used or watched a podcast but I do know a lot of people who love them and wouldn’t know what to do without them.

I chose to listen to Adam Bellows podcasts season 3 episode 8 and 9. One thing that stuck out to me is that he said his child’s teacher told him that homework is a good way for parents and children to spend one on one time.  Is this teacher nuts? http://onenerdyteacher.podomatic.com/entry/2015-10-14T03_03_03-07_00

Adam Bellow and the guy on the podcast talked about recognizing when something in education is relevant and if you can’t get excited about doing it, how the heck do you get your students excited about it?! I wish all teachers thought like that because I believe we could have more success in the classroom.

So… digital stories…I believe great things can come from using digital storytelling in your classroom. It is a great way to include technology into the more “difficult” subjects and make students more excited. I think it would be so interesting to have students write a story and make digital characters to go along with it. Can you imagine the creativity that would pour out of your students? I am a firm believer that we need creativity in the classroom at all grades and unfortunately it is becoming less important for students to have an original thought. I remember in elementary school be required to use my reasoning skills and learning to justify my creativity. When you have kids really think and understand their thoughts and opinions their sense of creativity tends to explode from their minds. They are required to think how we think they should because we are forced to teach to the standards. I think I will include digital storytelling in my classrooms to keep creativity alive, it could be like a motivator if used correctly. Tell them even though they have to write a story or what have you once they wrote it they could make it come to life using whatever form they want!

I actually enjoyed listening to the podcasts and digital stories and I think I will use them in the future. It is easy and convenient to listen to a conversation while doing other things. I am going to start thinking in the way that I ask myself “Is this relevant”?

Plus for all you Star Wars fans out there, they discuss it on the podcast I listened to!😍😍😍
